Observing December 2010

December is upon us, and though most of you probably already know about the little holiday coming up in about 3 weeks (and the week-long holiday that started last night), December also has a few celebrations that might not be marked on your calendars.  A few of them are:

Write a Business Plan Month (Note: the rules only say write it.  Feel free to ignore it thereafter.)

Root Vegetables and Exotic Fruit Gifts Month (If I find a turnip under the tree, someone has some serious explaining to do.)

Bingo’s Birthday Month (There was a party had a cake and bingo was its name-o…)

and

Tie Month (which puts a whole new spin on “Tie one on for the holidays”)

And… a very Happy Hanukkah to all my Jewish friends and readers!  (And to the rest of you, too) Enjoy the day!

Hi Susan. I love your posts where you tell me about all of those obscure celebrations. I’m always looking for a distraction, I mean, celebration. All the best.

Thanks Piper! I love reading about all the strange observances, and so many of them prompt odd thoughts. It’s great to have so many things to entertain ourselves though, and I’m glad you enjoy them as much as I do!
