Barring Something More Informative

Anyone else seeing a bar across the top of the blog?

Because I appear to be seeing things.  (Note: it wouldn’t be the first time. Just ask the unicorn, but that’s another story.)

When I tried to check out the blog from a public computer in the hotel lobby this morning I saw a rectangular yellow block/bar between the links at the top of the page and the first post title. When I access from my computer, it’s not there.

So, if you’re reading this, could you please do me a favor – if you’re seeing a bar, please post in the comments and let me know?  The other computer was using Internet Explorer, and I’m wondering whether there might not be a graphic glitch in IE (because, you know, Explorer is otherwise flawless…) so if there are IE users out there…could you let me know if you’re barred from the site?

Many thanks, and we now return you to your regular blogging experience.

Yeah, it shows up in IE 8 for me. Looks fine in Firefox.

There’s also a broken image tag (the little red x) in your red banner for logo.jpg. Not sure what that is supposed to be since the same area is empty without the problem in Firefox.

Just looked at your source real quick, looks like the logo image tag should be pointing to wp-content/themes/spann/images/logo.jpg, right now it’s just set as images/logo.jpg.

Same issue for a spacer.gif — this *may* be causing the yellow bar in IE if it’s not properly loading the spacer graphic. Or it could be something with the table mark-up or CSS that IE doesn’t like — but I’d suggest fixing the broken IMG elements first.

Thanks, T. I think we have it fixed. Had to do with IE & Chrome not liking the same graphics settings as Firefox.

    Because consistency is overrated…
