An Advance look at the October observances

Every month, we in the United States celebrate a variety of important causes.  Since I know you’re all very observant, I thought I’d bring you up to date on the things we’ll be, er, celebrating in October. (With the snark’s comments, as always, in italics.)

October 2010 is official:

Caffeine Addiction Recovery Month (Note: this one is for the rest of you.  I’m not addicted.  I can stop any time I want to.  In fact, I already gave it up four times today.)

Free Thought Month (Use them up now.  We start charging in November.)

Church Security Month (Because everyone feels better when the church feels good about itself.)

Wishbones for Pets Month (“Choke the Cat Month” sounded too dismal.)

Head Start Awareness Month (When the bad guy starts counting…that’s when you run.)

International Starman Month (Do you grok his meaning?)

Window Covering Safety Month (it’s 6am, do you know where your curtains are?)

Long Term Care Planning Month (You don’t have to care now, as long as you plan to care in the future.)

and

National Chili Month (because when it gets cold, it gets hot!)

Enjoy the observances, enjoy the start of fall!

LOL I love the Starman one. That book is probably my favorite book. I’ve read it now 8 times hehe. And yes I do grok it!

Hmm. That’s entirely too much celebrating for me. I’d better just pick one. Not Free Thought. I’d rather be paid for my thoughts. Wishbones for Pets? Nope. Don’t have any cats. I think I’ll take International Starman, and I think I’ll pick Hans Solo. Did I not grok something? Enjoying your blog. 🙂
